VegRun is a global community wellness event that brings people together through walking and running, promoting plant-based living, environmental awareness, and compassion.
In 2024, VegRun activities worldwide collectively logged 125,983 kilometers, with these efforts translated into donations such as trees, food supplies, and charitable contributions that support local communities. Each step taken contributes to healthier lifestyles, a more sustainable environment, and stronger community connections.
The event is designed to be family-friendly and senior-friendly, encouraging people of all ages to participate in a meaningful and accessible way.
In 2026, BLIA Los Angeles organized VegRun across 12 locations in the Greater Los Angeles area, with the participation of 25 subchapters and the BLIA Youth Group, along with support from University of the West, Hsi Lai School, BLIA Scouts, and TAG School.
The event engaged over 650 participants, ranging in age from 1 to 92, and accumulated more than 658 miles. Activities included walking, cycling, outdoor meditation, tai chi, and orange picking. Together, the GPS routes formed a symbolic heart-shaped map, representing unity, compassion, and collective intention.
Following this year’s VegRun, we hope to transform the accumulated mileage into meaningful support for local school districts, potentially through donated supplies or other forms of assistance. We look forward to learning more about the district’s needs and exploring how VegRun can contribute in a practical and impactful way.
