【羅蘭第一分會 Pan Xiao Hsia報導】 觀世音菩薩大慈大悲，廣受世人尊敬，故有「家家觀世音」之說，父母也樂於讓孩子成為觀世音菩薩的契子。其實，每一位慈母都是觀世音菩薩千手千眼的化身，佛光媽媽楊源並真誠的告白—「您我都是佛光寶寶、能發光、必成佛」。
「佛光寶寶」—寶寶受諸佛菩薩佛力加被庇祐，又在佛光山道場參加祈福典禮，故名佛光寶寶。
佛光山西來寺於8月5日舉辦佛光寶寶祝福禮， 137位佛光寶寶在403位親友的見證下，於觀世音菩薩成道紀念日成為觀音契子女，領受千手千眼慈悲無處不在，為其護「幼」的無價之禮。
3歲的杜醒寶是其中一位佛光寶寶，身為羅蘭第一分會委員的媽媽楊源說：「我發願多年，很希望懷上佛光寶寶，直到2019年，佛光幼苗在我肚裡發芽了，他還在我肚裡時，就參加了西來寺的各項修持活動。他出生後第一次回到西來寺是參加浴佛典禮，那時還需要我的幫忙，握住他的手，今年他可以全程自己完成，孩子真的是長大了。」
「佛光寶寶祈福禮是醒寶成長的里程碑！」楊源強調，「醒寶跟著住持慧東法師發願三皈依，成為真正的佛光寶寶！他也會成為佛光兒童、佛光青年、佛光人。」
「而我，身為佛光媽媽，將與他一起成長，傳持佛光精神。這不僅是佛光寶寶祝福禮，也是佛光媽媽祝福禮，因為佛光媽媽也需要佛陀的慈悲與智慧加被。」
楊源進一步說，「佛光人都是佛光寶寶、佛陀的孩子、初發心菩薩，需依循三寶庇佑指引。」
「佛光山開山祖師星雲大師以服務為人生目標，創造人生三百歲，祝福佛光人都是好寶寶，以師志為己志，在自立立他的過程閃耀發光，成就無上菩提得佛果。」楊源獻上他的祝福。
羅蘭第一分會會長潘青霞補充，西來寺義工組輔導法師妙皇法師總是以「孩子」稱呼義工，「孩子」兩字富含關懷與期許，跟佛光寶寶的寓意相同，「我們也要當佛光好孩子！」潘青霞並說，羅蘭第一分會督導趙林鳳在佛光寶寶祝福禮的「迷你遊樂園」擔任義工，以服務實踐人生三百歲，督導趙林鳳是發光的佛光寶寶！

Title: Buddha’s Light Children’s Blessing Celebrated at Fo Guang Shan Hsi Lai Temple: Adults and Children are all “good children”
Fo Guang Shan Hsi Lai Temple held a Buddha’s Light Children’s Blessing on August 5, in which 137 children accompanied by 403 family members and friends became spiritual children of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, the embodiment of great kindness and great compassion.
There is a Chinese saying which goes, “Avalokitesvara is in every family.” As one of the most popular bodhisattvas, Avalokitesvara is revered for her kindness and compassion in every household. But beyond that, every mother is an emanation of the Bodhisattva’s thousand hands and thousand eyes.
One of the children participating was three-year-old Du Xingbao. Her mother, BLIA Rowland Heights Subchapter 1 committee member Yang Yuan, shared her heartfelt journey, recounting how she had prayed for a child for years before finally becoming pregnant in 2019. While in the womb, Xingbao accompanied her mother to various Dharma services at the temple before finally visiting in person during the Buddha Bathing Dharma Service during the Buddha’s Birthday Celebration. At the time, she needed help holding the ladle to bathe the Buddha.
“Now, she can complete the ceremony on her own,” Yang Yuan said. “My child has truly grown up.”
Yang Yuan also stressed that the Children’s Blessing marks a milestone in Xingbao’s growth. Under Venerable Hui Dong’s guidance, she sought refuge in the Triple Gem and became a Buddha’s Light Child.
Yang Yuan added, “As a Fo Guang Mother, I will grow alongside her, passing down the spirit of Fo Guang Shan. This ceremony is more than just a blessing for Buddha’s Light Children. It is also for Fo Guang Mothers, as we too need the compassion and wisdom of the Buddha.”
Further elaborating, Yang Yuan said, “BLIA members are all Buddha’s Radiant Children, the Buddha’s offspring, novice Bodhisattvas. We must follow the guidance of the Triple Gem.”
Venerable Master Hsing Yun, Founding Master of Fo Guang Shan Monastery, dedicated his life to service and encouraged living a life of three hundred years by making the most of every moment.
BLIA Rowland Heights Subchapter 1 President Pan Qingxia added that volunteer coordinator Venerable Miao Huang affectionately refers to volunteers as ‘children.’ This term embodies care and expectations, mirroring the essence of Buddha’s Light Children.
“Just like them, we too aspire to be good ‘children’ of Fo Guang Shan,” said Pan.
Pan Qingxia also mentioned that BLIA Rowland Heights Subchapter 1 elder advisor Zhao Linfeng participated as a volunteer in the “Mini Amusement Park” at the Blessing Ceremony. Through this service, Zhao Linfeng embodied the spirit of three-hundred-year life, shining as an exemplar of being a Buddha’s Light “Child.”
